The Elijah occurrence is located south of Bugaboo Creek at an elevation of approximately 500 metres in elevation.

The area is underlain by the contact of diorite of the Mesozoic and/or Paleozoic Westcoast Complex and a limestone roof pendant of similar age. The skarn appears to be of two phases. The first is an older garnet-epidote assemblage found only as a remnant within the massive magnetite; the second is the later pyroxene skarn that surrounds the magnetite body.

One small, low-grade lens of magnetite with pyrite and skarn occurs on the main diorite-limestone contact; two small, almost sulphide-free, lenses of magnetite with minor disseminated garnet and tremolite occur in the limestone along a tongue of diorite. One of the latter is 7.5 metres high and 6 metres wide, surrounded by drift; the other, 4.5 metres to the west of it, shows a width of 3 metres and length of 3.6 metres and is also surrounded by drift. A small tunnel has been driven below this exposure.

In 2003 through 2011, Emerald Fields Resource and Pacific Iron Ore Corporation completed various exploration projects in the area as apart of the Pearson Project. These included prospecting, diamond drilling, ground and airborne geophysical surveys, geological mapping and geochemical sampling.
